Observation Care Program

Sometimes, with young patients, orthodontic treatment is not yet appropriate. In these instances, we will place your child in our Observation Care Program. It is extremely important to monitor the growth and development of the teeth and jaws to intercept any orthodontic problems early. In addition to monitoring the development of adult teeth, Dr. Lam will also want to ensure your child’s bite is developing correctly. Jaw growth and bite problems are related to growth patterns and need to be addressed at the proper stage of maturation. This is an individual time frame not necessarily related to age directly, as everyone grows at their own rate and time. During this observation period, Dr. Lam will determine the optimal time to begin orthodontic treatment to achieve a beautiful, healthy smile.
